AIRPORT CAFE TESTIMONIALS

Under new ownership since summer 2014. Our meals were delicious. We tried all three of the soups on offer--broccoli, Maryland crab, and chicken noodle. All were homemade and full of vegetables. We also split one of the signature burgers with pepper jack and bacon... It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We look forward to out next visit-- we ran out of room for the homemade strawberry shortcake!

Had a GREAT lunch there today. Great food, great friends, and great view watching the planes taking off and landing. I had the egg salad with crispy bacon. Mmmmm.

This place is unbeatable. The food is great, the service is great, and the owner taste checks every dish. We bring our son here because the outside deck is large and he can watch the planes land and take-off. Very family friendly atmosphere.

In the word of my son, "AIRPLANE!"

A surprisingly high-quality dineresque joint. Highly recommend, well, anything on the menu. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, and there is a deck on the back that abuts the runway so you can nosh and watch the traffic.

Very great, genuine, and family friendly joint.

What a gem! The Airport Cafe is located inside the Montgomery Airpark in Gaithersburg. When you pull in, you just snag a spot and walk over to the main building. Upstairs (check out the cute little Cessnas painted on the wall by the staircase) situates the Airport Cafe, in which you can either dine-in or outside on their little patio to see the Cessnas taking off on the runway :D The menu offers simple breakfast and lunch fare, such as egg (any style) dishes, omelets, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas, subs, etc. I tried the Maryland Crab soup (tasted like minestrone with some bits of crab; this was okay); the Blueberry Pancakes (not as great as I thought it would be, as they weren't that fluffy and more on the drier end; also, the blueberries were extremely tart); a Sausage, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich (with comes with a side of homefries; we opted for the croissant as the bread, and this sandwich was pretty tasty! The sausage patty and the melty American cheese was quite delicious; the side of homefries were crispy and yummy); Steak & Eggs (steak with a side of 2 eggs, any style (I had mine over medium), with your choice of toast; the steak was a little chewy, and I was sad that they didn't have any steak sauce available T___T; and, Orange/Coconut French Toast (French toast with oranges and coconut shavings, butter with orange bits, and a choice of a breakfast meat (we opted for the bacon; this was quite delicious, as the French toast was infused with the citrusy orange and topped with toasted coconut; the citrusy butter was quite delicious as well). Service was attentive and lovely, and I loved watching the planes take off while chowing down. The food was pretty tasty, and I think this is a cute little breakfast/brunch/lunch spot that's a little out of the ordinary

Incredible food and wonderful service. The owner and servers bend over backwards to make your experience a memorable one. Great food, great prices, great views of airplanes!!!!!

Fantastic spot to bring a toddler.  The outdoor deck allows views of fairly frequent take offs and landings.  If the weather isn't deck conducive, the dining room windows are large enough for plane watching too and fun plane models hang from the ceiling.

The food has always been basic but well-prepared and the service friendly and efficient.  Since the summer of 2014, the menu has expanded with some new interesting twists.  Today we enjoyed pumpkin pancakes with orange infused butter.  The lunch menu features some nice new sandwiches.
